Description
This isn’t some run-of-the-mill 16 Gauge ammo. Federal’s Prairie Storm FS Lead line of shotshells are loaded with FliteStopper pellets, which do away with the traditional pellet design in favor of truly deadly terminal performance!
Thirty percent of this shell’s 1-1/8 ounce column of #4 shot is comprised of FliteStoppers. These pellets have raised edges circling around their middles, which helps them to penetrate dense plumage and tear much wider wound channels into their target than a round pellet could ever manage. The remainder of this shell’s shot is in fact round, but because it is copper-plated it is virtually immune to deformation that could lead to poorer accuracy or a shallower wound channel.
Prairie Storm FS Lead ammunition also showcases Federal’s FliteControl wad. It erects fins in flight for greater stability, and it stays with the shot longer than usual to ensure it patterns in the densest formation possible. That means more pellets on target for a fast and sure kill!
Federal’s hulls are great for reloading, which is a big perk when you’re talking about rarer 16 Gauge ammo. Clean burning powder, non-corrosive primers, and expert craftsmanship – all things to be found in this Minnesotan ammo!
