Description
Turkey hunting is too rare a treat to depend on generic, all-purpose upland game ammunition. You want Federal’s specialized Grand Slam shells when your mission is to topple gobblers!
This 20 Gauge shell is extra long to house a heaping, 1-5/16 ounce helping of #5 shot. You want to hit that turkey with as much downrange energy as possible, which is why this shell takes two approaches to ensuring its shot pellets remain round and aerodynamic. Not only is each pellet plated with a hard copper shell – the whole column is packed in granulated buffering material to protect it against the jarring force of ignition. The shot column and its buffering are both kept from shifting around by a tight roll crimp and a clear card wad.
Grand Slam shells feature Federal’s FliteControl Flewad. It erects rear brake fins as soon as it clears the muzzle, which make certain it detaches cleanly from the shot column to promote a denser pattern. The FliteControl Fleis compatible with both standard and ported turkey chokes.
